Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, stated on Tuesday that, 90% of Covid-19 patients at city hospitals were double-vaccinated, with only 10% receiving a precautionary dosage.
According to a bulletin issued by the Delhi Health Department on Tuesday, the national capital reported 917 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, with a case positivity rate of 19.20 per cent.
The infection rate in Delhi is near 20%, which is the highest in the recent 7 months.
Before that, the infection rate was 21.48 per cent on January 20.
In the last 24 hours, 4775 tests have been performed in Delhi, with 917 new cases reported. In the national capital, there are now 6,867 active COVID cases.
During this time, three individuals died as a result of the infection. The city’s death toll is 26,392.
In the last 24 hours, there have been 1,566 recoveries and three Covid deaths in the national capital, according to the Ministry.
In total, 6,724 persons were vaccinated in the city, with 216 people receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 1,072 receiving the second dosage.
“Today, I thoroughly evaluated the Corona situation in Delhi with the officials. Currently, 90 per cent of new COVID hospitalisation cases in Delhi have not received the third dose. It is clear evidence that the third dose significantly improves COVID defence, “Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia tweeted.
Meanwhile, India reported a decrease in Coronavirus instances, with 8,813 new Covid-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, down from 14,917 cases the day before, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday.
In the last 24 hours, the country registered 15,040 recoveries, bringing the overall number of recoveries from the virus to 4,36,38,844. The current rate of recovery is 98.56 per cent.
According to the Health Ministry, the country’s daily positivity rate is 4.15 per cent, and its weekly positivity rate is 4.79 per cent.
The Ministry also stated that the country’s current caseload is 1,11,252, with active cases accounting for 0.25% of the total.
According to the Health Ministry, 88.06 crore Covid tests have been performed across the country thus far, with 2,12,129 performed in the last 24 hours.
