According to Future Generali India Insurance Company (FGII), its new health coverage has broadened the definition of family to include people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and people who live together.
The private insurer has introduced FG Health Absolute. This includes access to value-added services like Tele counseling, webinars on mental and physical health, vouchers for wellness centers, fitness, sports, and diagnostic facilities, primary hospitalization, and regular checkups to ensure a healthy and active lifestyle. The importance of regular health checkups by a general physician is being considered.
With this product, we are also making a significant step toward our goal of being an “inclusive” insurer by extending the definition of “family” for our health indemnity products to include members of the LGBTQIA+ community and those who are living together, according to MD & CEO Anup Rau.
Some multinational corporations started the movement to include all partners by implementing group policies that consider all relationships as part of their global inclusion strategy. Now, businesses are having this in stand-alone policies as well.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, and asexual people are all included under the umbrella term LGBTQIA+. According to Rau, the policy covers the product’s USPs, wellness & value-added services, improved mother & childcare, and international treatments for specific illnesses.
Policyholders receive reward points for leading a healthy lifestyle that can be converted into premium reductions. A thorough approach to physical and mental well-being is ensured by monthly tracking of customers’ fitness and healthy lifestyles.
